SBX Celebrates First-and-10
Its been a busy few weeks here at SpeakerBox (hence the lack of blog entries) and we thought this rainy Friday before Halloween would be a great time to catch our readers up on some of the more exciting things that have happened since last we wrote.
For starters, the firm celebrated its 10th anniversary on 10/10 (we couldnt resist that date!) with a party at Gua-Rapo
in Arlington. We were thrilled to celebrate our first ten years with clients, partners, friends and all those who have made SpeakerBox what it is today. The sports-themed event featured music by Monty Wells
- brother of our own Lisa Wells and was a great way to reminisce about the last ten years and look forward to the next ten. We took lots of pictures so check back here soon to see some party shots.
In September we had our annual SpeakerBox Day (our version of a company picnic) at Woodys Golf
in Herndon, VA. Anyone who is familiar with this team knows were a competitive bunch and our afternoon of mini golf, volleyball and horseshoes was no different. The Eastside Pirates are the proud champions of the all-important mini golf trophy, beating out the Westside Cougars who did manage to win best team uniform. Kudos to Stephanie Stadler who won the trophy for lowest score and a maybe youll get em next time to her teammate Lisa Wells who came in with the highest score.
Of course the competition didnt end with SpeakerBox Day as we hosted our second Iron Chef
-like challenge with a Mac n Cheese bakeoff last month. Stephanies luck continued as she won that handily, beating stiff competition that included Jennifer Becker, Piper Conrad and cupcake challenge winner Grace Kim. Next up for SBX Iron Chef Battle Pumpkin on November 2. This one promises to be a good one as the only parameter is that pumpkin must be a dominant ingredient. Stay tuned for the results!
